Ensuring That Your Best Friend Will Fit in at Wacky Wags Doggie Daycare
At Wacky Wags, all pets are Interviewed and Assessed to make sure they are friendly and will work well in our social environment.
Also, to ensure a good fit and a comfortable stay, we require that all of our boarders have a minimum of two days of daycare (for those that qualify) prior to overnight boarding (we know that this is not possible with every situation so come in, or call us so we can talk about it). Depending on the assessment outcome, we may require more than the minimum two days.
After the assessment dogs will fall into one of two categories. The first category is the pet is okay to be in daycare while at Wacky Wags. The second category is the pet is NOT okay to be in daycare while at Wacky Wags. Dogs that fall into the second category can still be boarded at Wacky Wags and will be placed into our One-on-One boarding program. This will be discussed during the initial interview.
What to Expect on Your First Visit to Wacky Wags
When you and your dog enter our facility, you’ll both be a bit excited. When your companion finds that there are 25 to 35 dogs in our various playgroups, in different rooms, he or she will probably be shaking with excitement about the possibility of joining one of these groups. Don't be alarmed by this shaking it's not from fear or nervousness—but more from being excited to meet and greet his or her new friends!
You’ll probably also experience a high level of dog communication within our facility. As you come in, our guests will be very pleased to see both of you, so you might hear some friendly hellos in the form of barking. All of this is normal. Just come into our reception area with your dog on leash, and we’ll direct you both from there.
At that point, we’ll want to make sure that all of your interview packet paperwork is complete, and that you have your vaccination records with you. The assessment interview takes about 20 minutes; we will interview both you and your companion.
What happens next is an experience that will keep you and your best friend coming back day after day and year after year!
Do we accept all breeds at Wacky Wags?
No, for the safety of all animals and associates, we cannot accept dogs of the classification, wolves/wolf hybrids or mixed breeds that have the appearance or characteristics of one of these breeds. We do not accept any breeds that display aggression to humans or other animals.
How long can I board my dog?
Dogs can be boarded from 1 day up to 20 consecutive days. Longer stays are available with management approval, please call (530) 342-WAGS (9247) or email us email@example.com with your boarding needs.
What is boarding with daycare?
Boarding with daycare means the pet has past our temperament test and is able to socialize with other guests while boarding at Wacky Wags.
What is One-on-One boarding?
One-on-One boarding is for dogs that cannot be around other dogs while boarding. They get more One-on-One time with our handlers. Reasons why a dog can be placed into our One-on-One program can range from the dog being dog-on-dog aggressive, dog is to nervous, dog has never been socialized, dog is still intact, owners don't want their dog around other dogs, or the dog did not pass our temperament test. Dogs staying in our One-on-One program go outside just like all other dogs, however they will have their own play area to explore and have fun in. We recommend off campus walks to help in exercising while staying with us.
