Which vaccines are required for my DOG in order to stay at a Wacky Wags?
Owners will be required to provide proof of current vaccinations (Bordetella, Rabies, DHPP and K9-Flu H3N2 & H3N8). If expired or has never been given the Bordetella must be administered at least 10 days prior to coming. The K9 Flu vaccine is a two part series if it has never been given. Flea and heartworm preventatives are encouraged but not required. This should be discussed with your veterinarian. You or your veterinarian office can easily fax these to: Wacky Wags (530) 820-1910.
Why does Wacky Wags require the Bordetella vaccination to be administered 10 days prior to arrival to check-in if it has expired or has never been administered?
Our 10 day policy ensures that guests with little or no immunity have not been exposed accidentally and infected with an illness while visiting their veterinarian to get vaccinated. While seemingly stringent, this innovative approach to disease management has helped greatly reduce the occurrence of canine cough at Wacky Wags.
Can my dog catch an illness while staying and playing at Wacky Wags?
Yes, there is always a risk of catching an illness while your pet is socializing with other dogs. This could happen at dog parks, veterinarian facilities, dog daycare facilities, dog boarding facilities, pet stores, training classes and anywhere dogs go to socialize.
Here at Wacky Wags we do require the vaccines as mentioned above, however there is no guarantee that your pet will not come down with an illness. We do everything we can here at Wacky Wags to try and prevent illnesses from occurring.

What is boarding with daycare?
Boarding with daycare means the pet has past our temperament test and is able to socialize with other guests while boarding at Wacky Wags.
What is One-on-One boarding?
One-on-One boarding is for dogs that cannot be around other dogs while boarding. They get more One-on-One time with our handlers. Reasons why a dog can be placed into our One-on-One program can range from the dog being dog-on-dog aggressive, dog is to nervous, dog has never been socialized, dog is still intact, owners don't want their dog around other dogs, or the dog did not pass our temperament test. Dogs staying in our One-on-One program go outside just like all other dogs, however they will have their own play area to explore and have fun in.
What if my dog doesn't play well with others?
To ensure the safety of all pet boarding guests while still providing quality care for your pet, dogs that cannot be in daycare while boarding are placed into our One-on-One boarding program. The pet can be walked off campus for 15, 20 & 30 minutes everyday with a Guest Services staff member, please let us know on arrival if you would like to add a walk. This additional service is not part of the boarding fee.
